A ship carrying 60,875 metric tons of wheat from the United States arrived at Mongla Port today, under the government-to-government agreement between the two countries. This is the third consignment under the deal, which provides for the import of a total of 4,40,000 metric tons of wheat from the US. The first shipment of 56,959 metric tons arrived on October 25, 2025, followed by the second consignment of 60,802 metric tons on November 3, 2025. With today's delivery, the total quantity of wheat received so far stands at 1,78,636 metric tons. Sample testing of the wheat on board has already begun and preparations are underway for its prompt unloading once testing is completed.

মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্র ও গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ সরকারের মধ্যে স্বাক্ষরিত সমঝোতা স্মারকের আলোকে নগদ ক্রয় চুক্তি নম্বর জে টুজি ওয়ান এর অধীনে যুক্তরাষ্ট্র থেকে ৬০ হাজার ৮৭৫ মেট্রিক টন গম নিয়ে এম ভি উইকোটাটি নামের জাহাজটি মোংলা বন্দরের বহিঃনোঙরে পৌঁছেছে। বাংলাদেশ ইতোমধ্যে গভর্নমেন্ট টু গভর্নমেন্ট ভিত্তিতে যুক্তরাষ্ট্র থেকে গম আমদানি কার্যক্রম শুরু করছে। এই চুক্তির আওতায় মোট ৪ লাখ ৪০ হাজার মেট্রিক টন গম আমদানি করা হবে। এর প্রথম চালানে গত ২৫ অক্টোবর ২০২৫ তারিখে ৫৬ হাজার ৯৫৯ মেট্রিক টন গম এবং ৩ নভেম্বর ২০২৫ তারিখে দ্বিতীয় চালানে ৬০ হাজার ৮০২ মেট্রিক টন গম দেশে পৌঁছেছে। এটি আমদানিকৃত গমের তৃতীয় চালান। চুক্তি মোতাবেক ৪ লাখ ৪০ হাজার মেট্রিক টন গমের মধ্যে যুক্তরাষ্ট্র থেকে তিনটি চালানে মোট ১ লাখ ৭৮ হাজার ৬৩৬ মেট্রিক টন গম দেশে পৌঁছেছে। জাহাজে রক্ষিত গমের নমুনা পরীক্ষার কার্যক্রম ইতোমধ্যে শুরু হয়েছে। গমের নমুনা পরীক্ষা শেষে দ্রুত গম খালাসের প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে।
