US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Paul Kapur has said that relations between the United States and Bangladesh are now more important than ever. In a post on social media platform X on Friday (April 3), Kapur said he attended a national day reception hosted by the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington to mark the country’s Independence Day. “Joined the Bangladesh Embassy’s national day reception to discuss our bilateral relationship,” he said. Kapur noted that cooperation in areas such as security, trade, governance and shared values continues to strengthen ties between the two countries, contributing to greater prosperity and stability.

যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের দক্ষিণ ও মধ্য এশিয়াবিষয়ক সহকারী পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী পল কাপুর বলেছেন, যুক্তরাষ্ট্র ও বাংলাদেশের সম্পর্ক বর্তমানে আগের যেকোনো সময়ের তুলনায় বেশি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। শুক্রবার (৩ এপ্রিল) সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যম এক্সে দেওয়া এক বার্তায় তিনি এ মন্তব্য করেন। তিনি জানান, স্বাধীনতা দিবস উপলক্ষে ওয়াশিংটনে বাংলাদেশ দূতাবাস আয়োজিত একটি সংবর্ধনা অনুষ্ঠানে তিনি অংশ নেন। অনুষ্ঠানে অংশগ্রহণের বিষয়ে পল কাপুর বলেন, “দ্বিপক্ষীয় সম্পর্ক নিয়ে আলোচনা করতে বাংলাদেশ দূতাবাসে আয়োজিত জাতীয় দিবসের সংবর্ধনা অনুষ্ঠানে যোগ দিয়েছি।” তিনি আরও বলেন, “আজ যুক্তরাষ্ট্র-বাংলাদেশ সম্পর্ক আগের যেকোনো সময়ের চেয়ে বেশি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। সহযোগিতা, নিরাপত্তা, বাণিজ্য ও সুশাসনসহ বিভিন্ন ক্ষেত্রে আমাদের অভিন্ন মূল্যবোধ দুই দেশকে আরও সমৃদ্ধ ও নিরাপদ করে তোলে।”
