While many web series fail to produce a second season, “Chokkor” has proven to be an exception. Following the success of its first season, iScreen has released its original web series “Chokkor 2.”

With new mysteries, darker themes, and deeper psychological conflict, “Chokkor 2” is offering audiences a unique psychological thriller experience since its release on iScreen.

The story is inspired by a tragic incident 17 years ago in Mymensingh, where nine members of a family reportedly died by suicide. The first season was based on that घटना, and the sequel continues with heightened suspense.

Released on March 26 as part of iScreen’s special Eid lineup, the eight-episode series has already created a strong buzz. Within just 48 hours, it crossed 1 million minutes of watch time on the OTT platform.

Amid widespread praise, a press conference was held on Sunday (March 29) at Channel i to celebrate the success of “Chokkor 2.” The cast and crew shared their experiences and audience feedback.

Impress Telefilm Limited and Channel i Managing Director Faridur Reza Sagar said that Vicky Zahed had earlier directed “Punorjonmo,” which marked a turning point in his career. Following “Chokkor,” the sequel has also achieved notable success on iScreen in a short time.

The series stars Tousif Mahbub, Azmeri Haque Badhon, Shahed Ali, Nader Chowdhury, A.K. Azad Setu, Ihtisham Ahmed, Meghla Mukta, Gazi Rakayet, Shahed Ali Sujon, Moushumi Mou, and others.

Their strong performances and the gripping narrative have made “Chokkor 2” a standout success. Actor Tousif Mahbub said this was his first web series and he had felt nervous before release, but audience feedback has been overwhelmingly positive—even viewers from London have shared that they enjoyed it with family during the holidays.

Director Vicky Zahed said that while many series hint at future seasons that never materialize, “Chokkor 2” was made in response to constant audience demand. He expressed gratitude to iScreen and Faridur Reza Sagar for making it possible.

He added that the series features 18 important characters and may be one of the largest ensemble casts in a Bangladeshi web series. While fictional, it draws inspiration from real-life elements.

Other cast members, including Azmeri Haque Badhon, Meghla Mukta, Moushumi Mou, and A.K. Azad Setu, also shared their experiences at the event.

“Chokkor 2” can be watched on the iScreen app via subscription, or by paying Tk 25 without a subscription.
