Warfaze to pay tribute to pop icon Michael Jackson
Country’s legendary rock band Warfaze is set to pay tribute to global pop icon Michael Jackson at a special concert in Dhaka, celebrating the enduring legacy of the late music legend.
The tribute performance will take place on July 2 at the China–Bangladesh Friendship Conference Centre in the capital, under the title “Playlist: Tribute to Originals.”
Organised by Brandmyth, the event will feature Warfaze performing not only their own popular tracks but also a selection of more than a dozen Michael Jackson classics.
Organisers said the initiative aims to honour two musical forces—Jackson, whose songs continue to resonate worldwide, and Warfaze, one of country’s most influential rock bands, recently awarded the Ekushey Padak for their contribution to music.
Tickets for the concert will go on sale soon via Get Set Rock, according to the organisers.
Meanwhile, Warfaze will also mark 42 years of its journey on Saturday (June 6) with a private celebration concert, where band members are expected to reunite for an intimate gathering.
Fans can also expect new music from the band in the near future. Two upcoming releases include a reimagined version of their 1996 track “Jibon Dhara” from the album 'Kromosho', along with a song for an upcoming film, details of which remain undisclosed.
The current lineup of Warfaze includes Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu (drums), Ibrahim Ahmed Kamal (lead guitar), Palash Noor (vocals), Naeem Haque Roger (bass), Shams (keyboards), Samir Hafiz (lead guitar), and Soumen Das (lead guitar).
