Warne’s son claims covid vaccine may have contributed to his father's death
Fresh controversy has emerged over the death of Australian cricket legend Shane Warne, after his son Jackson Warne suggested the Covid-19 vaccine may have played a role.
Warne died of a suspected heart attack in Thailand in 2022 at the age of 52.
However, in a recent podcast interview, Jackson said he believes the vaccine could have contributed to complications in his father’s health.
Speaking on the Two Worlds Collide podcast, he said Warne was initially reluctant to get vaccinated but later took the shot due to work requirements.
Jackson said he had initially blamed the government, the pandemic situation and the vaccine after hearing of his father’s death, adding, “I think the vaccine was involved,” though he acknowledged it is difficult to be certain about the exact cause.
He also noted that Warne had a history of smoking and drinking but appeared to be in good health before his sudden death.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest bowlers in cricket history, Warne took 708 Test wickets and 293 in ODIs, finishing with 1,001 international wickets in a celebrated career.
