We love Bangladesh very much: Cavan Sullivan

Cavan Sullivan, 16, a Bangladeshi-origin footballer, has come into discussion by creating a unique record by scoring goals and assists in four consecutive matches for Philadelphia Union in Major League Soccer (MLS). The family relationship of this young attacking midfielder, who is in great form, with Bangladesh has also newly come into discussion.

Speaking about the love and support received from Bangladeshi supporters, Cavan Sullivan informed that their family’s relationship with Bangladesh is long-standing. When asked about the support of Bangladeshi fans online and in the gallery, he said, “The love is not something I am receiving only recently, I have been receiving it for quite some time. As I have said before—as a family we love Bangladesh very much. We always remember the love of the people there with gratitude.”

Cavan Sullivan’s two twin brothers Ronan Sullivan and Declan Sullivan have played for the Bangladesh Under-20 national team and played an important role in winning the title of the age-based SAFF Championship. Bangladesh won the title with Ronan’s penalty goal in the tiebreaker of the final against India and the performance of the two brothers.

Regarding the success of the brothers and the possibility of playing in Bangladesh again, Cavan Sullivan said, “When my brothers go there, the matter feels very great. I hope they will be able to go back there again, play a few matches and win another tournament.”

Proud of the success of the two brothers, Cavan Sullivan said, “We are truly very proud of whatever they are doing.”

Besides the family members, Cavan Sullivan also keeps track of the news of the Bangladesh junior football team. Expressing good wishes for the Bangladesh Under-20 team, he said, “I know that the Under-20 team of Bangladesh is now playing a tournament. Lots of good wishes for them.”

However, Cavan Sullivan’s two brothers could not play in the ongoing age-based competition. It has been learnt that they could not be in the team this time as they did not get leave from the university.
