Why breakfast is important and what foods should be included

Many people do not give importance to breakfast. Some wake up late, while others skip breakfast due to hurry and leave home. However, nutritionists say that breakfast is extremely important for the body. After fasting all night, consuming the right food in the morning provides the body with necessary energy and significantly increases work capacity throughout the day.

Science says that regularly eating a healthy breakfast improves brain function, enhances concentration and keeps metabolism active. Therefore, skipping breakfast can be harmful to health.

Breakfast should be healthy, nutritious and easily digestible. Here are some foods that can be regularly included in breakfast:

1. Eggs
Eggs are considered one of the best sources of protein. They also contain important nutrients such as vitamin B, vitamin A, iron and calcium. They help build muscle and increase energy. Eggs are beneficial for people of all ages, from children to the elderly.

2. Whole grain toast
Compared to white bread, whole grain toast contains more fibre and complex carbohydrates, which provide sustained energy release and help control blood sugar levels. Therefore, it is better to choose whole grain toast over white bread for breakfast.

3. Chia seeds
Chia seeds are rich in fibre, omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants. They can be mixed with yoghurt, oats or protein shakes. Regular consumption of chia seeds improves digestion and keeps the stomach full for longer.

4. Nuts
Nuts are a good source of protein, healthy fats, fibre, magnesium and potassium. They are beneficial for the heart and provide long-lasting energy. A handful of nuts can be eaten with yoghurt, oatmeal or directly in the morning.

5. Cottage cheese (Paneer)
Cottage cheese has high protein content but relatively low calories. It can be added to various breakfast items. It helps build muscle and helps maintain energy for longer periods.

Experts believe that if breakfast is properly planned every day, it has a positive effect on daily work performance and overall health. Therefore, even with a busy schedule, it is best not to skip breakfast and consume it in a healthy way.
