Mominul Haque expressed his regret for missing a century despite coming so close to it in a humorous manner. After being dismissed for 91 runs on the first day of the Mirpur Test against Pakistan, he said at a press conference that his wife might scold him a little for not being able to score a century.

Bangladesh lost the toss in the first Test of the series between the Bangladesh national cricket team and the Pakistan national cricket team on Friday and elected to bat first. Although captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto scored a century, Mominul was stopped at 91 runs, raising the possibility of another century.

Speaking about his regret at the press conference at the end of the day, Mominul said that he had not regretted not scoring a century for so long. However, today he did. That too because of his wife. Because his wife might scold him a little for not being able to score a century. "I felt bad for two-three minutes. But honestly, for me, scoring regular runs is more important than 100."

Regarding his dismissal, the left-handed batsman said, "The aim was to play normal cricket for the last hour. However, we couldn't play as planned because Pakistani bowler Noman Ali bowled well. The ball suddenly went low."

At the end of the day's play, Bangladesh's total stood at 301 for 4.
