With anticipation reaching fever pitch ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and Spain, last-minute ticket prices have skyrocketed, with some seats selling for as much as $60,000 on resale platforms.

Tickets remained available on FIFA's official resale portal and leading secondary marketplaces on Saturday, but only at premium prices driven by extraordinary demand.

The cheapest ticket listed on FIFA's official resale platform—a mid-tier seat behind the goal—was priced at $6,411.25 early in the day. Within hours, those tickets were sold out, pushing the entry price to around $10,000, while premium hospitality packages climbed to $60,000.

Upper-deck corner seats were listed at approximately $10,000, while seats closer to the pitch cost around $16,000.

On secondary ticketing platforms such as SeatGeek and StubHub, upper-deck seats also started at around $10,000, with lower-bowl tickets commanding prices of nearly $35,000.

Demand has been fueled by the historic significance of the final. The match could mark Lionel Messi's final World Cup appearance, while Spain's teenage sensation Lamine Yamal is set to play in his first World Cup final, making the showdown one of the most anticipated in recent memory.

Argentina enter the final chasing back-to-back World Cup titles. Victory would make them the first nation since Brazil in 1958 and 1962 to successfully defend the trophy. Spain, meanwhile, are aiming to lift the World Cup for the second time after their triumph in 2010.

Messi heads into the final after contributing eight goals and four assists during the tournament. If he starts against Spain, the Argentine captain will become the first player in World Cup history to start three finals, while also remaining in contention for both the Golden Ball and Golden Boot awards.
