Xi Jinping greets Bangladesh on Independence Day

Xi Jinping has sent a congratulatory message to Mohammad Shahabuddin on the occasion of the 55th Independence Day of Bangladesh.

The message was sent on Thursday (March 26).

In his message, Xi Jinping said that China and Bangladesh are good neighbours, good friends and good partners. He noted that the two countries have always treated each other with mutual respect and equality, cooperated for mutual benefit, and set an example in state-to-state relations.

He further said he attaches great importance to the development of China-Bangladesh relations and is ready to work with President Shahabuddin to deepen political mutual trust, carry forward traditional friendship, and enhance high-quality cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative across various sectors. He also expressed interest in advancing the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Chinese Premier Li Qiang sent a congratulatory message to Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on the occasion.

In addition, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi also conveyed greetings to his Bangladeshi counterpart Khalilur Rahman marking the anniversary.
