Yamal, Rodri return home with World Cup trophy

The players of the Spain national football team have returned home after winning the FIFA World Cup. A special Iberia Airlines flight carrying Lamine Yamal, Rodri, and their teammates landed at Madrid's Barajas Airport on Monday (July 20).

As the aircraft taxied toward the terminal, the Spanish national flag was seen waving from the cockpit window at 2:30pm local time. Head coach Luis de la Fuente was the first to disembark from the plane. He was followed by the tournament's best player, Rodri, who raised the World Cup trophy high while standing atop the stairs.

Upon returning to the country, the world champion team's first destination is the Zarzuela Royal Palace, where they will hold a courtesy meeting with King Felipe VI. Following this, the players and coaching staff will attend a reception at the Moncloa Palace at the invitation of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.

Later, the Spanish squad will hold a victory parade through central Madrid in an open-top bus. The final destination of the parade is Cibeles Square, where a special event has been organized in their honor. It is estimated that nearly one million people could gather on the capital's streets for this celebration.
