Yamal strikes in 10th minute to put Spain ahead
Following a frustrating goalless draw against Cape Verde, Spain is on track for a victory against Saudi Arabia, taking an early lead through a 10th-minute goal from teenage star Lamine Yamal.
Playing attacking football from the kickoff, Spain maintained absolute control of the match. Operating on the right flank, Yamal repeatedly exploited the Saudi defense with his blistering pace, finding his reward in the 10th minute by piercing through the backline to score.
Spain maintained their relentless attacking momentum even after the breakthrough. Up until the 12th to 13th minute of the match, they held an overwhelming 85% of the possession, leaving Saudi Arabia with just 15%.
Saudi Arabia has adopted a deeply defensive strategy from the start. Deploying five defenders in their own half, they have yet to register any notable counter-attacks.
Spain's midfield and attack, centered around Pedri, Rodri, and Yamal, are in excellent rhythm as Luis de la Fuente's side pursues a crucial victory after dropping points in their opening fixture.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia, coming off a draw against Uruguay, is now searching for a way back into the match. However, given Spain's early dominance, a severe test lies ahead for the Middle Eastern side.
