Yash breaks silence on intimate scenes with Kiara in ‘Toxic’

South Indian star Yash has opened up about the intimate scenes featuring him and Kiara Advani in the upcoming film Toxic, saying the movie explores sexuality without crossing the line into vulgarity.

Discussion around Yash and Kiara’s on-screen chemistry intensified after glimpses of the film were released, with several intimate sequences drawing strong reactions on social media. Yash also shares intimate scenes with Tara Sutaria in the film, while one released glimpse showed the actor in a nude sequence.

Addressing the controversy, Yash said there is a clear distinction between portraying sexuality and being vulgar. He stressed that he does not support vulgarity and believes the difference becomes evident when viewers watch the film in its entirety.

According to the actor, the presentation of an intimate scene is as important as the scene itself. He said filmmakers can portray sexuality aesthetically when it serves the story and is handled with restraint.

Yash also defended Kiara after she faced criticism over the intimate sequences in the song Tabaahi. He said the promotional footage revealed only a small part of her character and praised her performance, suggesting audiences would see much more of her in the full film.

The actor said performers inevitably face criticism at different stages of their careers and should not allow outside reactions to dictate their creative choices. Works that appear ahead of their time may initially attract criticism, he said, but audiences eventually recognise their value.

Yash further described Toxic as a film aimed at a new generation of viewers and said its full impact could only be experienced on the big screen.
