Youth killed in shooting by miscreants in Khulna

A young man was killed after being shot by miscreants in the Bagmara area of Rupsha upazila in Khulna. The incident occurred around 1:00 am on Saturday, January 10.

The victim was identified as Abdur Rashed Pikul, 27.

According to police, the assailants opened fire on Pikul, shooting several rounds. Two bullets hit his chest and one struck his head, leaving him critically injured at the scene. Hearing the gunshots, locals rushed to the spot, but the attackers had already fled.

He was later rescued by locals and taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Rupsha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Razzak Mir said that the perpetrators have not yet been identified. Police are conducting operations to uncover the motive behind the killing and arrest those involved.
