The police recovered the body of an unidentified man, around 60 years old, from the footpath in front of Dhaka University's Rokeya Hall. He was brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in an unconscious condition on Wednesday morning, where the attending doctor in the emergency department declared him dead, said the police. Aminul Islam, deputy inspector (SI) of Shahbagh Police Station, Confirmed the matter. He said,"The body has been placed in the mortuary of DMCH for post-mortem. Efforts are underway to identify him with the help of technology."

ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের (ঢাবি) রোকেয়া হলের সামনের ফুটপাত থেকে এক বৃদ্ধের মরদেহ উদ্ধার করেছে পুলিশ। তার বয়স আনুমানিক ৬০ বছর। তার পরিচয় নিশ্চিত হওয়া যায়নি। পুলিশ জানায়, বুধবার সকালে অচেতন অবস্থায় তাকে ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজ (ঢামেক) হাসপাতালে নিয়ে গেলে জরুরি বিভাগের দায়িত্বরত চিকিৎসক মৃত ঘোষণা করেন। বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করে শাহবাগ থানার উপপরিদর্শক (এসআই) আমিনুল ইসলাম বলেন, ‘প্রযুক্তির সহায়তায় তার পরিচয় জানার চেষ্টা চলছে। মরদেহ ময়নাতদন্তের জন্য ঢামেক হাসপাতালের মর্গে রাখা হয়েছে। এ বিষয়ে আইনি প্রক্রিয়া চলমান রয়েছে।’
