1 killed, 2 injured in Cumilla air machine explosion

A man named Jamshed Alam (50) died in a car air pump explosion in Cumilla. Two others were injured during the incident. The deceased Jamshed was the owner of the garage.

The accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in the Aganagar area adjacent to a petrol pump in the Burichang Upazila Sadar area of ​​the district.

The deceased Jamshed is the son of Rahmat Ali of Aganagar village in Sholanal union of the upazila.

The injured are - Md. Mohsin (38), son of Abdul Sobhan of Kharataiya Gazipur village, and Md. Shah Alam (40), son of Rabban Bhuiyan of Burichang Noapara village.

Police and locals said that the shop owner Jamshed Alam was loading air into the machine to inflate the wheels of the car. At that time, the air machine exploded with a loud noise and the shop was blown away. Jamshed Alam, Mohsin and Shah Alam, who were in the shop, were injured. Later, locals rescued them and took them to Burichang Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor Jamshed Alam was declared dead.

Burichang Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Azizur Rahman said that the deceased's family was not interested in conducting an autopsy, but the body was handed over following their request.
