10 individuals appointed advisrrs to the rank of ministers and state ministers

Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed, Nazrul Islam Khan, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed and seven other senior BNP leaders have been appointed as advisers to the rank of ministers and state ministers.

The matter was confirmed by a notification from the Cabinet Division of the government on February 17 (Tuesday).

The Prime Minister has appointed these individuals as advisers in the rank of ministers and state ministers under the powers conferred on them by Rule 3(B) of the ‘Rules of Business, 1996’. This notification, signed by Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Goni on the orders of the President, will come into effect immediately.

According to the notification, five individuals have been appointed as advisers in the rank of full ministers. They are—Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed, Nazrul Islam Khan, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, Md. Ismail Zabiullah and Dr. Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir. As a result of this appointment, they will play an important role in the policy-making stage of the government and will enjoy the same privileges and status as ministers.

In addition, five more people have been given the responsibility of advisers with the rank of state minister. They are Humayun Kabir, Brigadier General (Retd.) Shamsul Islam, Dr. Zahedur Rahman, Dr. Mahadi Amin and Rehan Asif Asad. The appointment has been made with the aim of bringing dynamism to administrative work and providing specialized advice, according to the relevant sources.
