10 injured in bus-truck head-on collision in Bhanga
At least 10 people were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck on the Dhaka–Barishal highway in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur.
The accident took place around 9:00am on the Katchakhali Bridge in Chumurdi union on Sunday morning (June 14), police confirmed.
According to police and local sources, the bus, heading towards Barishal, collided head-on with a truck coming from Barishal towards Bhanga. Both vehicles reportedly bore registration numbers Dhaka Metro-B 12-2825 (bus) and Dhaka Metro-N 13-1170 (truck).
Following the crash, the bus driver and several passengers were injured. Police and Fire Service personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the injured, later sending them to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex for treatment.
Hospital authorities confirmed that six of the injured were admitted.
The collision disrupted traffic on the busy highway for around 30 minutes before normal movement was restored.
Bhanga Highway Police said the damaged bus and truck have been taken into custody for further investigation.
