Authorities have formed a five-member investigation committee to look into the fire at the lift of the new building of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. The committee has been asked to submit its report within the next three working days.

BSF rescues 10 Bangladeshis after boat capsize in Padma
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has been praised for rescuing 10 Bangladeshis, including a 20-day-old newborn, alive after a boat capsize in the Padma river in Chapainawabganj. The newborn Tanisha was quickly provided medical treatment and recovered, while all 10 Bangladeshis were returned to the country through a flag meeting. An elderly man, however, remains missing in the incident.
13 villages in Bagha submerged under floodwater, thousands suffering
Thirteen of the 15 villages in Chakarajapur union of Bagha upazila in Rajshahi have been flooded due to continuous rainfall and the abnormal rise in river water levels. Roads, homes and croplands in villages including Atarpada, Diarkadirpur, Chaumadia, Kararinoshara, Nich Palashi and Kalidaskhali have gone under water, leaving thousands of people marooned.
Clash between students of two JU halls over shop ownership, 9 injured
A clash erupted between students of Biswakabi Rabindranath Tagore Hall and National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam Hall at Jahangirnagar University (JU) over the ownership of shops.
