RAB-10 has recovered 107 firearms, 7,394 rounds of ammunition, sound grenades, and narcotics in special drives across Keraniganj, Narayanganj, Chandpur, and Jatrabari over the past year.
The elite force disclosed the information at a press conference on Wednesday (September 3) at the RAB Media Center in Dhaka, led by RAB-10 Commander Additional DIG Mohammad Kamruzzaman.
RAB said Md. Shahid was arrested in Keraniganj on Tuesday night with two foreign pistols, magazines, bullets, sharp weapons, yaba tablets, and marijuana. Separately, a pistol and bullets were seized from an abandoned tin house in Chandpur, later confirmed to be looted police weapons.
In Narayanganj, Sadhan Sarkar alias Saiful Islam was arrested from a cement shop in Fatulla, where a pistol, magazine, and three bullets were recovered. He has multiple drug cases against him.
On August 31, Faisal Khan was detained in Jatrabari with four unexploded sound grenades. Based on his information, four more were recovered in Demra the following day.
RAB officials said the seized weapons and explosives are under investigation, and further probes will determine whether the accused planned sabotage. They stressed that regardless of political links, criminal activities will be prosecuted.
Since August last year, RAB-10 has been conducting continuous operations to recover looted weapons and trace their sources and users.
