Eleven more children have died with symptoms of measles in the past 24 hours, marking the highest single-day death toll recorded this September. The deaths occurred between 8am Tuesday and 8am Wednesday. During the same period, 1,157 suspected measles cases were identified, while 113 people tested positive for measles. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the figures in its regular measles report released Wednesday afternoon, September 23. According to the report, a total of 1,076 people have died since March 15 after either being confirmed with measles or showing symptoms of the disease. Of them, 101 died after being confirmed as measles cases, while 975 died with suspected measles.

হামের উপসর্গ নিয়ে গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় আরও ১১ শিশুর মৃত্যু হয়েছে। চলতি সেপ্টেম্বর মাসে এক দিনে এটিই সর্বোচ্চ মৃত্যুর সংখ্যা। মঙ্গলবার সকাল ৮টা থেকে বুধবার সকাল ৮টা পর্যন্ত এসব মৃত্যুর ঘটনা ঘটে। একই সময়ে সন্দেহজনক হাম রোগী শনাক্ত হয়েছে ১ হাজার ১৫৭ জন। এ ছাড়া নিশ্চিত হাম শনাক্ত হয়েছে ১১৩ জনের। বুধবার (২৩ সেপ্টেম্বর) বিকেলে স্বাস্থ্য অধিদফতরের হামবিষয়ক নিয়মিত প্রতিবেদনে এসব তথ্য জানানো হয়েছে। প্রতিবেদন অনুযায়ী, গত ১৫ মার্চ থেকে এ পর্যন্ত নিশ্চিত হাম ও হামের উপসর্গ নিয়ে মোট ১ হাজার ৭৬ জনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। এর মধ্যে নিশ্চিত হাম শনাক্ত হওয়ার পর মারা গেছে ১০১ জন। আর সন্দেহজনক হাম নিয়ে মারা গেছে ৯৭৫ জন।
