11 more children die with Measles symptoms in last 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, 11 children have died of measles and measles symptoms in the country. Of these, one has died of measles with certainty, while the rest had measles symptoms. At the same time, 1,236 children are suspected of being infected with measles.

This information was given in a press release by the Directorate General of Health Services on Tuesday (April 7).

According to the data of the Directorate General of Health Services, 22 children have died of confirmed measles since March 15. In addition, 128 more children have died with measles symptoms. At the same time, 1,398 people have been infected with measles and 6,883 more children have shown measles symptoms.

Division-wise, the highest number of deaths and infections occurred in Dhaka division, followed by Rajshahi division. In the last 24 hours, 186 children have been infected with measles with certainty in Dhaka division and 499 more children have been admitted to hospitals with symptoms.

It is worth noting that the government has launched an emergency measles-rubella vaccination program since last Sunday after the measles outbreak began across the country.
