11,000 more KNF uniforms seized in Chattogram
Police have seized another 11,785 suspicious uniforms belonging to the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) from a warehouse in Chattogram city.
The operation occurred late Monday night (May 27) at a warehouse in the Noyahat area under Bayezid Bostami police station. However, no on-duty police officers were willing to provide statements to the media about the incident.
A police officer who wished to remain anonymous stated that the uniforms belong to the armed hill group KNF.
Earlier, on the night of May 17, police seized 20,300 suspicious uniforms from Ringvo Apparels in the Nayarhat area under Bayezid Bostami police station. In connection with this case, three individuals, including the factory owner, were arrested. On May 18, Detective Sub-Inspector Iqbal Hossain filed a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act at Bayezid Bostami police station.
According to the case details, the uniforms were ordered in March by Golam Azam and Niyaz Haider. They contracted Monghalasin Marma, also known as Mong, from Kaptai in Rangamati, to produce the uniforms for 20 million taka. The delivery of the uniforms was scheduled for this month.
