During the one and a half decade rule of the ousted Awami League government, 119 officials who were 'deprived' of the post of secretary in public administration have been promoted. This information was revealed in a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday.

Subject to the approval of the President, the promotion order was signed by Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Public Affairs, Mian Muhammad Ashraf Reza Farid.

The notification states that the mentioned officials will receive all financial benefits as per the rules as per the availability from the date of their promotion to one or more posts. The officials will receive 50 percent of their outstanding dues in the current financial year. They will receive the remaining 50 percent in the next financial year (2025-26). The concerned officer will be considered to have continued in service as an officer on special duty in the last promoted post until he attains the age of 57 (fifty-seven)/59 (sixty-nine).

After the completion of the post-retirement leave/pre-retirement leave, the employee will be deemed to have retired from government service on the date fixed for retirement. The concerned officers will be entitled to financial benefits by adjusting their arrears of salary, allowances, pension etc. as per the rules. The PRL/LPR order issued earlier to the concerned officer is hereby cancelled. Post-retirement leave/pre-retirement leave will have to be adjusted at the time of salary determination. This order issued in the public interest will come into effect immediately.
