12 die of dengue in 24hrs

Twelve people died of dengue in the 24 hours between 8am Saturday and 8am Sunday, with Barishal division recording the highest number of deaths at five.

During this period, 740 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the country, including in Dhaka.

The information was disclosed in a press release issued on Sunday (September 21) by the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

DGHS reported that in the past 24 hours, dengue-related hospital admissions included 165 patients from Barishal Division, 77 from Chattogram Division, 147 from Dhaka Division (outside city corporation areas), 122 from Dhaka North City, 115 from Dhaka South City, 52 from Khulna Division, 22 from Mymensingh Division, 28 from Rajshahi Division, 3 from Rangpur Division, and 9 from Sylhet Division.
