120 health cadre doctors promoted to associate professor

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has promoted 120 doctors of the BCS (Health) cadre to the post of associate professor.

A notification signed by Joint Secretary Sanjida Sharmin of the Health Services Division confirmed the promotion. According to the notification, based on recommendations of the departmental promotion committee and approval of the President, the promoted doctors have been placed in 4th grade of the National Pay Scale 2015 as associate professor (supernumerary).

The notification states that until further order, the promoted officials will continue duties at their previous workplace and in their existing role. They have been instructed to send their joining letters to the Health Services Division by December 11.

Physicians under supernumerary positions must comply with relevant regulations. No transfer or workplace change will take place until further posting orders are issued. For doctors currently on lien, deputation, study leave or maternity leave, the promotion will take effect after the end of their respective leave period.

The ministry further stated that if any adverse information is found against any officer in the future, the authority reserves the right to amend or cancel the notification.
