1,299 law officers recruited across country so far in Nov
The Ministry of Law Justice and Parliamentary Affairs has appointed 1,299 legal professionals to different courts across 25 districts between Nov 3-13 as part of the interim government's initiatives to drive state reforms.
They will fill the positions of government prosecutors, additional government prosecutors, assistant government prosecutors, public prosecutors, additional public prosecutors and assistant public prosecutors.
Another 20 lawyers were appointed as special public prosecutors for the BDR explosives case, the law ministry announced on Thursday.
Among the new recruits, 30 were appointed in Munshiganj, 41 in Lakshmipur, 47 in Feni, 62 in Naogaon, 75 in Noakhali, 48 in Manikganj, 61 in Narsingdi, 151 in Tangail, 26 in Chapainawabganj, 71 in Gazipur, 31 in Magura, 14 in Narail, 33 in Chuadanga, 18 in Gopalganj, 55 in Kushtia, 38 in Habiganj, 41 in Barguna, 9 in Bandarban, 7 in Rangamati, 124 in Rajshahi, 52 in Chandpur, 78 in Patuakhali, 45 in Gaibandha, 64 in Jamalpur and 78 in Pabna, covering district and session courts, as well as subordinate court, tribunals and special judge's courts.
The law ministry's Solicitor Wing confirmed their appointments in separate notices issued on Nov 3, 10 and 13.
The notices, signed by Deputy Solicitor Sana MD Mahroof Hossain, terminated the contracts of existing law officers serving in district and session judge's courts, subordinate courts and tribunals, and special judge's courts.
