The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) decreased the price of a 12kg LPG cylinder by Tk39 for consumers. The commission announced the new price in a press release on Wednesday (July 2). According to the updated decision, the new retail price of a 12kg LPG cylinder will be Tk1,364. Previously, the price was Tk1,403. This means the price has been reduced by Tk39 per cylinder. Earlier, in June this year, the price was reduced by Tk28 and set at Tk1,403 per cylinder. BERC adjusts LPG prices monthly based on the international market rates of propane and butane, as announced by Saudi Aramco.

ভোক্তা পর্যায়ে ১২ কেজির এলপি গ্যাসের দাম ৩৯ টাকা কমিয়েছে বাংলাদেশ এনার্জি রেগুলেটরি কমিশন (বিইআরসি)। বুধবার (২ জুলাই) এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে নতুন দাম ঘোষণা করা হয়। নতুন সিদ্ধান্ত অনুযায়ী, এখন ১২ কেজির সিলিন্ডারের খুচরা মূল্য হবে ১ হাজার ৩৬৪ টাকা। এর আগে এই দাম ছিল ১ হাজার ৪০৩ টাকা। অর্থাৎ, সিলিন্ডারপ্রতি দাম কমানো হয়েছে ৩৯ টাকা। এর আগে, চলতি বছরের জুন মাসে এলপি গ্যাসের দাম ২৮ টাকা কমিয়ে প্রতি সিলিন্ডার ১ হাজার ৪০৩ টাকা নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছিল। উল্লেখ্য, সৌদি আরামকো ঘোষিত প্রোপেন ও বিউটেনের আন্তর্জাতিক বাজারদরের সঙ্গে সমন্বয় করে প্রতি মাসে এলপি গ্যাসের দাম নির্ধারণ করে বিইআরসি।
