13 senior police officials sent into forced retirement
The government has sent 13 police officials of DIG and Additional DIG rank into forced retirement.
The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification in this regard by order of the president on Wednesday, April 22.
The notification stated that these officials have been retired under Section 45 of the Government Servants Act, 2018. This section stipulates that after completion of 25 years of service, the government may retire any official without a show-cause notice at any time.
The officials sent into retirement are: Dr A F M Masum Rabbany, DIG of Police Staff College Dhaka; Md Ashrafuzzaman, Commandant of Rangpur PTC; A Z M Nafiul Islam and Md Monirul Islam, DIGs of Anti-Terrorism Unit; Mohammad Abul Foyez, DIG of Naval Police; Mahfuzur Rahman and Shameema Begum, DIGs of Police Headquarters; Md Munibur Rahman, DIG of APBN Headquarters; Md Abu Kalam Siddique, DIG of Industrial Police; Md Aminul Islam, DIG of Police Telecom; Salma Begum, DIG of APBN; Md Sakhawat Hossain, Additional DIG of Tourist Police; and Md Iqbal Hossain, Additional DIG attached to the Rangpur Range DIG office.
The notification further stated that these retired officials will receive all retirement benefits as per rules.
