13,781 primary teachers to be recruited this year
Primary and Mass Education Ministry’s Secretary Farid Ahmed said that 13,781 assistant teachers will be recruited in government primary schools this year.
“A device called Suraksha has been developed to prevent digital fraud in the recruitment examination. Use of this device has been successful in preventing fraudulency in teacher recruitment exams,” the secretary said while addressing a press conference organised by the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education on Thursday (March 21).
Farid Ahmed said, “The schools whose number of students is consistently low will be closed and students of those closed schools will be admitted to neighbouring schools.
Apart from this, the government primary schools which have less than 50 students will also be merged with neighbouring schools. A list of 300 such schools have been prepared.”
According to the Primary and Mass Education Ministry, there are currently 65,566 government primary schools in the country with 1,34,84,617 students and 3,59,095 teachers.
