13 km traffic congestion on Dhaka-Chattogram highway
A severe traffic jam has occurred on a 13-kilometer stretch of the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in the Munshiganj Gojaria area, causing significant inconvenience to passengers stuck in the jam.
According to Bhoberchar Highway Police, the traffic jam began around 5:30 am on Friday (January 17) when a truck heading to Comilla broke down on the Gumti Bridge slope in the Bausha area. Efforts are underway to remove the truck, but this has caused significant congestion on the road.
Md Humayun Kabir, In-charge of Bhoberchar Highway Police Station, said, "The truck breakdown at the Gumti Bridge slope has caused the traffic jam. Due to the holiday, there is heavier traffic than usual on this road. We are working to clear the vehicles, and traffic will be normal again soon."
