Bhola district, located in the southern Barishal Division of Bangladesh, is also widely known as the island district of Bhola. Below is an overview of the four parliamentary constituencies in Bhola.

Bhola-1 (Parliamentary Constituency No. 115): Bhola-1 comprises Bhola Sadar Upazila.

Candidates: Seven candidates are contesting: Andalib Rahman of Jatiya Party-BJP (ox cart), Md Mizanur Rahman of National Peoples Party-NPP (mango), Md Nazrul Islam of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami (scales), Md Ashraf Ali of Islamic Front Bangladesh (chair), Md Obaidur Rahman of Islami Andolan Bangladesh (hand fan), Md Akbar Hossain of Jatiya Party (plough), and Md Ainur Rahman Jewel Mia of Gana Odhikar Parishad-GOP (truck).

Elected MPs: In 1991, Tofail Ahmed of Awami League was elected. In 1996, the seat was vacant. In 2001, Mosharraf Hossain Shahjahan of BNP was elected, and in 2008, Andalib Rahman Partha of Jatiya Party-BJP won the seat.

Bhola-2 (Parliamentary Constituency No. 116): 
Bhola-2 comprises Daulatkhan and Borhanuddin Upazilas.

Candidates: Seven candidates are contesting: Md Hafiz Ibrahim of BNP (sheaf of paddy), Mokfar Uddin Chowdhury of Liberal Democratic Party-LDP (umbrella), Taslima Begum (independent, football), Md Ala Uddin of Amjonotar Dal (butterfly), Advocate Md Jahangir Alam Ritu of Jatiya Party (plough), Md Fazlul Karim of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami (scales), and Md Zakir Hossain Khandakar (independent, motorcycle).

Elected MPs: In 1986, 1991, and 1996, Tofail Ahmed of Awami League was elected. In the 1991 by-election, Mosharraf Hossain Shahjahan of BNP won. In 2001, Hafiz Ibrahim of BNP was elected, and in 2008, Tofail Ahmed of Awami League won the seat.

Bhola-3 (Parliamentary Constituency No. 117): 
Bhola-3 comprises Tazumuddin and Lalmohan Upazilas.

Candidates: Five candidates are contesting: Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram of BNP (sheaf of paddy), Md Mosleh Uddin of Islami Andolan Bangladesh (hand fan), Md Kamal Uddin of Jatiya Party (plough), and Md Abu Taiyeb of Gana Odhikar Parishad-GOP (truck).

Elected MPs: In 1991 (twice), Hafiz Uddin Ahmed was elected as an independent candidate. In 1996 and 2001, Hafiz Uddin Ahmed of BNP won. In 2008, Josim Uddin of Awami League was elected.

Bhola-4 (Parliamentary Constituency No. 118): Bhola-4 comprises Monpura and Charfashion Upazilas.

Candidates: Six candidates are contesting: Md Nurul Islam of BNP (sheaf of paddy), Md Mostofa Kamal of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami (scales), Md Mizanur Rahman of Jatiya Party (plough), Md Jalal Uddin Rumi of Amjonotar Dal (butterfly), Md Abul Kalam of BNP-Gonotontree Andolon-NDM (lion), and Abul Mokarram Md Kamal Uddin of Islami Andolan Bangladesh (hand fan).

Elected MPs: In 1991, M M Nazrul Islam of Awami League was elected. In the 1992 by-election, Zafar Ullah Chowdhury of Awami League won. In the February 1996 election, Nazim Uddin Alam of BNP was elected, and in 2008, Abdullah Al Islam Jacob of Awami League won the seat.
