In Cumilla district, electoral competition between the Awami League (AL) and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has traditionally been almost evenly balanced. This pattern is evident in the results of all national parliamentary elections considered competitive, excluding the last three elections. However, in the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election, the absence of the Awami League has significantly altered the electoral landscape in Cumilla. This time, the main contest will primarily be between BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami. Below is an overview of the 11 parliamentary constituencies in Cumilla district.


Cumilla-1 (Parliamentary Constituency No. 249): Cumilla-1 consists of Daudkandi Upazila and Meghna Upazila of Cumilla district. The constituency originally had 347,005 voters. However, according to January 2026 data, the total number of voters stands at 438,616, including 225,088 male voters, 213,528 female voters, and no third-gender voters.


Candidates: A total of nine candidates are contesting in this constituency. Syed Md. Iftekhar Ahsan is contesting from Jatiya Party with the Plough symbol. Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain is contesting from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) with the Sheaf of Paddy symbol. Barua Manojit Dhiman is contesting from Bangladesh Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal–Bangladesh J with the Car symbol. Mohammad Abul Kalam is contesting from the Bangladesh Republican Party (BRP) with the Elephant symbol. Abu Zayed Al Mahmud is contesting as an independent candidate with the Pitcher symbol. Bashir Ahmed is contesting from Islami Andolon Bangladesh with the Hand Fan symbol. Omar Faruk is contesting as an independent candidate with the Horse symbol. Md. Moniruzzaman is contesting from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami with the Scales symbol. Md. Safiul Basar is contesting from Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) with the Eagle symbol.


Previous Results: In 1991, M. K. Anwar was elected from BNP. In June 1996, M. K. Anwar was re-elected from BNP. In 2001, M. K. Anwar again won the seat from BNP. In 2008, Mohammad Subid Ali Bhuiyan was elected from the Awami League. He was re-elected in both the 2014 and 2018 elections from the Awami League.


Cumilla-2 (Parliamentary Constituency No. 250) : Cumilla-2 comprises Homna Upazila and Titas Upazila. The total number of voters is 375,067, including 196,119 male voters, 178,947 female voters, and one third-gender voter.

 

Candidates: A total of six candidates are contesting in this constituency. Md. Abdus Salam is contesting from Islamic Front Bangladesh with the Chair symbol. Md. Amir Hossain is contesting from Jatiya Party with the Plough symbol. Md. Selim Bhuiyan is contesting from BNP with the Sheaf of Paddy symbol. Md. Nazim Uddin is contesting from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami with the Scales symbol. Mohammad Ashraful Alam is contesting from Islami Andolon Bangladesh with the Hand Fan symbol. Md. Abdul Matin is contesting as an independent candidate with the Padlock symbol.


Previous Results: In 1991, Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain was elected from BNP. He was re-elected in June 1996 and 2001 from BNP. In 2008, M. K. Anwar was elected from BNP.


Cumilla-3 (Parliamentary Constituency No. 251): Cumilla-3 consists of Muradnagar Upazila. The constituency has a total of 500,726 voters, including 258,905 male, 241,817 female, and four third-gender voters.


Candidates: A total of nine candidates are contesting in this constituency. Md. Yusuf Sohel is contesting from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami with the Scales symbol. Md. Sharif Uddin Sarkar is contesting from Insaniyat Biplob Bangladesh with the Apple symbol. Md. Khorshed Alam is contesting from Bangladesh Congress with the Coconut symbol. Md. Emdadul Haque is contesting from the Bangladesh Republican Party (BRP) with the Elephant symbol. Moniruzzaman is contesting from Gono Odhikar Parishad (GOP) with the Truck symbol. Ahmad Abdul Qayyum is contesting from Islami Andolon Bangladesh with the Hand Fan symbol. Riyaz Md. Sharif is contesting from the National Democratic Movement (NDM) with the Lion symbol. Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain (Kaikobad) is contesting from BNP with the Sheaf of Paddy symbol. Chowdhury Rakibul Haque is contesting from Amjanata Party with the Butterfly symbol.


Previous Results: In 1991, Rafiqul Islam Mia was elected from BNP. In June 1996, Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad was elected from Jatiya Party (Ershad). In 2001, Kaikobad was re-elected from BNP.


Cumilla-4 (Parliamentary Constituency No. 252): Cumilla-4 comprises Debidwar Upazila. The constituency has 410,559 voters, including 215,237 male, 195,319 female, and three third-gender voters.


Candidates: A total of five candidates are contesting. Irfanul Haque Sarkar is contesting from Insaniyat Biplob Bangladesh with the Apple symbol. Md. Abdul Karim is contesting from Islami Andolon Bangladesh with the Hand Fan symbol. Mohammad Majibur Rahman is contesting from Khelafat Majlish with the Wall Clock symbol. Md. A. Jasem Uddin is contesting from Gono Odhikar Parishad (GOP) with the Truck symbol. Md. Abul Hasnat is contesting from the National Citizen Party (NCP) with the Water Lily Bud symbol.


Previous Results: In 1991, Manzurul Ahsan Munshi was elected from BNP. He was re-elected in February 1996, June 1996, and 2001 from BNP. In 2008, A. B. M. Golam Mostafa was elected from the Awami League.


Cumilla-5 (Parliamentary Constituency No. 253): Cumilla-5 consists of Brahmanpara Upazila and Burichang Upazila. According to January 2026 data, the constituency has 476,172 voters, including 247,155 male, 229,017 female, and no third-gender voters.


Candidates: A total of ten candidates are contesting. Abdullah Al Kafi is contesting from the Communist Party of Bangladesh with the Sickle symbol. Md. Jasem Uddin is contesting from BNP with the Sheaf of Paddy symbol. Md. Emranul Haque is contesting from Jatiya Party with the Plough symbol. Md. Cumilla-6 (Parliamentary Constituency No. 254): Cumilla-6 comprises Cumilla Adarsha Sadar Upazila, Cumilla City Corporation, Cumilla Sadar Dakshin Upazila, and the Cumilla Cantonment area. The constituency has 647,777 voters, including 324,195 male, 320,575 female, and seven third-gender voters.


Candidates: A total of eight candidates are contesting. Obaidul Kabir Mohan is contesting from JSD with the Star symbol. Mohammad Harunur Rashid is contesting from Islami Andolon Bangladesh with the Hand Fan symbol. Md. Monirul Haque Chowdhury is contesting from BNP with the Sheaf of Paddy symbol. Kazi Din Mohammad is contesting from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami with the Scales symbol. Md. Cumilla-7 (Parliamentary Constituency No. 255): Cumilla-7 consists of Chandina Upazila. The constituency has 329,166 voters, including 169,361 male, 159,799 female, and six third-gender voters.


Candidates: A total of five candidates are contesting. Solaiman Khan is contesting from Khelafat Majlish with the Wall Clock symbol. Maulana Ehteshamul Haque is contesting from Islami Andolon Bangladesh with the Hand Fan symbol. Sajal Kumar Kar is contesting from the Bangladesh Cultural Liberation Front (Muktijot) with the Stick symbol. Atikul Alam is contesting as an independent candidate with the Pitcher symbol. Cumilla-8 (Parliamentary Constituency No. 256): Cumilla-8 consists of Barura Upazila. The constituency has 380,833 voters, including 196,098 male, 184,732 female, and three third-gender voters.


Candidates: A total of eight candidates are contesting. Md. Mofiz Uddin Ahmed is contesting from the Bangladesh Republican Party (BRP) with the Elephant symbol. Cumilla-9 (Parliamentary Constituency No. 257): Cumilla-9 consists of Laksam Upazila and Monoharganj Upazila. The constituency has 478,535 voters, including 247,765 male, 230,769 female, and one third-gender voter.


Candidates: A total of eight candidates are contesting. Md. Abul Kashem is contesting as an independent candidate with the Duck symbol. Samira Azim is contesting as an independent candidate with the Football symbol. Md. Abu Bakar Siddique is contesting from Islamic Front Bangladesh with the Chair symbol. Syed A. K. M. Cumilla-10 (Parliamentary Constituency No. 258): Cumilla-10 comprises Nangalkot Upazila, Lalmai Upazila, and Cumilla Sadar Dakshin Upazila. The constituency has 536,227 voters, including 276,647 male, 259,579 female, and one third-gender voter.


Candidates: A total of seven candidates are contesting. Hasan Ahmed is contesting from Bangladesh Congress with the Coconut symbol. Ramiz Bin Arif is contesting from Gono Odhikar Parishad (GOP) with the Truck symbol. Md. Abdullah Al Noman is contesting from Amjanata Party with the Butterfly symbol. Md. Candidates: A total of seven candidates are contesting. Md. Mohiuddin (Shaheed) is contesting from Islami Andolon Bangladesh with the Hand Fan symbol. A. F. M.
