13th National Parliamentary Election: Feni District

In Feni district, the electoral strength of the Awami League and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has traditionally been almost equal. This pattern is reflected in the results of all national parliamentary elections held in the country, except for the last three. However, in the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election, the absence of the Awami League has significantly altered the electoral dynamics in Feni. This time, the main contest is expected to take place primarily between BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami. Below is an overview of the three parliamentary constituencies in Feni district.

Feni-1 (Parliamentary Constituency No. 265): Feni-1 consists of Parshuram Upazila, Phulgazi Upazila, and Chhagalnaiya Upazila of Feni district. The total number of voters in this constituency is 385,652, including 198,759 male, 186,890 female, and 3 third-gender voters.

Candidates: A total of seven candidates are contesting in this constituency. Motaher Hossain Chowdhury is contesting with the Plough symbol from the Jatiya Party. S. M. Kamal Uddin is contesting with the Scales symbol from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. Munshi Rafiqul Alam is contesting with the Sheaf of Paddy symbol from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). Kazi Golam Kibria is contesting with the Hand Fan symbol from Islami Andolon Bangladesh. Md. Firoz Uddin Chowdhury is contesting with the Coconut Tree symbol from the Bangladesh Congress. Anwar Ullah Bhuiyan is contesting with the Banyan Tree symbol from the Bangladesh Khelafat Andolon, while Mahbub Morshed Majumdar is contesting with the Hurricane Lantern symbol from the Bangladesh Muslim League.

Previous Results: In 1991, Begum Khaleda Zia was elected as a Member of Parliament from BNP. She was again elected in June 1996 and re-elected in 2001. After vacating the seat, BNP candidate Said Iskander won the subsequent by-election. In 2008, Begum Khaleda Zia was once again elected as a Member of Parliament from this constituency.

Feni-2 (Parliamentary Constituency No. 266): Feni-2 consists of Feni Sadar Upazila. According to data from January 2026, the total number of voters in this constituency is 437,078, including 225,881 male, 211,194 female, and 3 third-gender voters.

Candidates: A total of ten candidates are contesting in this constituency. Md. Harunur Rashid Bhuiyan is contesting with the Rickshaw symbol from Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis. Md. Tarek-ul Islam Bhuiyan is contesting with the Truck symbol from Gono Odhikar Parishad (GOP). Saiful Karim Majumdar is contesting with the Butterfly symbol from the Amjanata Party. Previous Results: In 1991, Joynal Hazari was elected as a Member of Parliament from the Awami League. He was re-elected in June 1996 from the Awami League. In both the 2001 and 2008 elections, Zainal Abedin was elected as a Member of Parliament from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

Feni-3 (Parliamentary Constituency No. 267): Feni-3 consists of Daganbhuiyan Upazila and Sonagazi Upazila. According to data from January 2026, the total number of voters in this constituency is 508,194, including 263,227 male, 244,965 female, and 2 third-gender voters.

Candidates: A total of eight candidates are contesting in this constituency. Md. Hasan Ahmed is contesting with the Apple symbol from Insaniyat Biplob Bangladesh. Md. Abu Sufian is contesting with the Plough symbol from the Jatiya Party. Abdul Awwal Mintoo is contesting with the Sheaf of Paddy symbol from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). Md. Saif Uddin is contesting with the Hand Fan symbol from Islami Andolon Bangladesh. Md. Abu Nasir is contesting with the Chair symbol from Islamic Front Bangladesh. Previous Results: In 1991, Mahbubul Alam Tara was elected as a Member of Parliament from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). In June 1996, Muhammad Mosharraf Hossain was elected as a Member of Parliament from BNP. He was re-elected in both the 2001 and 2008 elections from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
