14 children hospitalised with Measles symptoms in Tangail in 24 hrs

At least 14 children have been admitted to hospitals in Tangail over the past 24 hours with symptoms of measles, bringing the total number of hospitalised cases in the district to 194.

According to the district Civil Surgeon’s Office, four children were admitted to Tangail Medical College Hospital, seven to Kumudini Hospital, and three to Tangail General Hospital during the period.

Health officials said 23 children were discharged after treatment in the same timeframe, while 56 patients remain under care at different hospitals.

Authorities also confirmed that three children have died with measles-like symptoms at Tangail General Hospital and Kumudini Hospital so far.

Officials said dedicated isolation wards have been opened to treat infected children, with necessary medical care being provided. The district health department is closely monitoring the situation and taking measures to contain the spread of the disease.
