14 heavyweight accused to appear at International Crimes Tribunal today

Fourteen individuals, including 10 former ministers from the Awami League government, two advisers, a retired judge, and a former secretary, will be presented at the International Crimes Tribunal on Monday (November 18). They are to be shown as arrested and charged with crimes against humanity related to the July-August genocide case.

The area surrounding the tribunal has been tightly secured since the morning to ensure safety.

The accused will appear before a three-member tribunal headed by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mazumdar, Chairman of the International Crimes Tribunal. The tribunal will also include Justice Mohammad Shafiul Alam Mahmud and Judge Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury.

Earlier, on Sunday (17 November), Mohammad Tajul Islam, the Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal, said, "When the accused are presented, they will be allowed one lawyer and a family member, but no members of the public will be permitted."
