15 Bangladeshi pilgrims die during Hajj in Saudi Arabia, 58,347 arrive

Fifteen Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have died in Saudi Arabia so far while performing the holy pilgrimage. Among the deceased, 11 are men and four are women.

The information was provided in the Hajj bulletin published on Saturday, May 16.

According to the bulletin, 11 pilgrims died in Makkah and four in Madinah. No deaths have been reported in Jeddah, Mina, Arafah or Muzdalifah.

Meanwhile, a total of 58,347 Bangladeshi pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia as of 2:59 am on Friday, May 15. Among them, 4,444 have travelled under government management and 53,903 under private management .

A total of 150 flights have been operated so far to transport pilgrims. Biman Bangladesh Airlines has carried 29,704 pilgrims on 75 flights, Saudia Airlines has carried 19,784 pilgrims on 53 flights, and Flynas has carried 8,859 pilgrims on 22 flights.

The first Hajj flight departed Bangladesh on April 18. Outbound flight operations will continue until May 21. Return flights will begin on May 30 and continue until June 30.
