15 Bangladeshi students to represent nation at International Math Competition

A 15-member national team is heading to Mongolia to represent Bangladesh in the International Mathematics Competition (MIMC 2026). The seven-day event will kick off on July 22 in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, and will continue until July 27.

Around 600 students from 32 countries around the world will participate in the 24th edition of this competition. The Bangladesh national team is being managed by Bangla’s Math. The 15-member squad will showcase their mathematical talent across two distinct categories: Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3.

The students competing in the Key Stage 2 category are: Arijit Saha (Class 6, St. Joseph Higher Secondary School), Ariiz Intishar Chowdhury (Class 6, Glenrich International School, Satarkul), Labiba Binte Fazle Rabbi (Class 6, Mastermind School), Arnab Ranjan Paul (Class 5, Anandaniketan School), Rajarshi Saha (Class 6, Glenrich International School, Satarkul), Tarja Tanudbhab Tomo (Class 6, Shohojpath High School), and Tahmid Hasan (Class 5, Manarat Dhaka International School and College).

The participants in the Key Stage 3 category are: Alvin Khan (Class 9, Dhaka Residential Model College), Sakin Al Sadaf (Class 9, Glenrich International School, Satarkul), Rishan An Nafi (Class 9, Dhaka Residential Model College), Marjana Manha (Class 8, SFX Green Herald International School), Bareerah Mostakhar (Class 7, Scholastica), Mubtasim Al Mahdi (Class 7, Dhaka Residential Model College), Md. Imad Al Deen Chowdhury (Class 7, Presidency International School), and Faiza Adifah (Class 9, Cantonment Public School and College, Rangpur).

Ahmed Shahriar, S. M. Mahtab Hossain, and Md. Ashraful Al Shakur are serving as the coaches for the Bangladesh team. The coaches believe that participating in this international competition is not only a personal achievement for the students but also an important milestone in the progress of mathematics education in the country. Through this event, Bangladeshi mathematical talents will get an opportunity to demonstrate their skills on an international stage.

Md. Ashraful Al Shakur, co-founder of Bangla’s Math and coach of the Bangladesh team, expressed optimism that there is no lack of talent and capability among Bangladeshi students. He stated that with proper guidance and training, Bangladesh will be able to achieve even greater success in international mathematics competitions.
