1,654 mm rainfall recorded nationwide in 24 hours, highest in Hatiya

The intensity of monsoon rainfall has further increased across the country in the last 24 hours. Most districts of the country, including the capital, have received moderate to heavy rainfall, according to the Meteorological Department. A total of 1,654 mm of rainfall has been recorded in the past day at 43 observation stations across the country.

According to the latest bulletin of the Meteorological Department, the country's highest rainfall of 105 mm was recorded in Hatiya in Chattogram division. In addition, the rain intensity was higher in Mymensingh and Netrokona regions; where 104 and 101 mm of rain were recorded respectively.

There was some variation in the rainfall pattern in Dhaka division. While 45 mm of rainfall was recorded in the capital, 89 mm was recorded in the neighboring district of Narayanganj. In addition, 57 mm of rain was recorded in Aricha and 33 mm of rain was recorded in Madaripur.

80 mm of rain was recorded in Baghabari in Sirajganj in the northern region and 37 mm in Bogura. On the other hand, the southern coastal area of ​​Khepupara received 99 millimeters of heavy rainfall and Patuakhali received 51 millimeters.

Temperatures across the country have also dropped significantly due to the continuous rains. The country's highest temperature in the last 24 hours was recorded in Satkhira at 33.6 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, the country's lowest temperature was recorded at 19 degrees Celsius in Nikli and Narayanganj in Kishoreganj.

The Meteorological Office said that most parts of the country are currently experiencing a rainfall trend of 76 to 100 percent, which is likely to continue for the next few days.
