17 senior police officers reshuffled

Seventeen officers of Bangladesh Police have been transferred and posted to important positions in RAB, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Special Branch (SB), Armed Police Battalion (APBn) and Rangpur Metropolitan Police.

This information was given in three separate notifications issued from the Police-1 branch of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday (August 25).

According to the notifications, DIG of PBI Md Humayun Kabir has been transferred as additional director general of RAB. Additional DIG (supernumerary DIG) of Police Staff College Md Humayun Kabir has been transferred to the Police Headquarters.

Additional DIG of Railway Police Md Tofael Ahmed Mia has been transferred as joint police commissioner of DMP and Police Super (supernumerary additional DIG) of APBn Nazmul Alam has been transferred as deputy police commissioner of DMP.

Additional Police Super (supernumerary Police Super) of SB Md Rezaul Karim has been attached to APBn and Specialized Training Centre, Khagrachhari.

In another notification, DIG of SB Mahbubur Rashid has been posted as police commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police. Deputy Police Commissioner of DMP Aslam Uddin has been transferred as Police Super to the Police Headquarters.

Besides, Additional Police Super (supernumerary Police Super) of PTC, Noakhali, Mohammad Nurul Amin has been attached to APBN and Specialized Training Centre, Khagrachhari.

In the same notification, the order issued on 11 December 2025 transferring Joint Police Commissioner of DMP Mohammad Kamruzzaman as additional DIG to the Police Headquarters has been cancelled. Alongside, the order issued on May 5 transferring Deputy Police Commissioner of DMP Mallik Ahsan Uddin Sami as Police Super of Narail has also been cancelled.

In another notification, Police Super of APBn Md Shahadat Hossain, Special Police Super of SB MKH Jahangir Hossain and Deputy Police Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police Md Abdur Rahman have been posted as Police Super of PBI.

Besides, Police Super (supernumerary additional DIG) of PBI Md Jafar Hossain has been made additional DIG of CID. Police Super of PBI Md Abul Kalam Azad has been posted as commandant of In-Service Training Centre, Gazipur, and Commandant SM Sirajul Huda has been posted as commandant of In-Service Training Centre, Jhenaidah.

Police Super of PBI Muhammad Khaled-Uz-Zaman has been posted as Police Super of CID and Police Super of PBI SM Rafiqul Islam has been posted as Police Super of APBN.

Besides, Deputy Police Commissioner of Sylhet Md Riazul Kabir has been attached to the office of the DIG of Rangpur Range.
