The 19th Dhaka Auto Series of Exhibitions 2026 has begun in the capital, showcasing the growing prospects of Bangladesh’s electric vehicle (EV) industry, modern automotive technology and investment opportunities.

The three-day exhibition is being held from April 23 to 25 at the International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka.

A wide range of domestic and international automobile manufacturers, parts makers and technology providers are participating in the event, displaying electric SUVs, EV trucks, three-wheelers, two-wheelers and advanced lithium battery technologies.

The exhibition also highlights the role of EVs in reducing fuel dependency and environmental pollution.

Organisers said multiple companies, including Bangladesh Auto Industries Ltd, are presenting new products and future mobility solutions. Separate pavilions have been set up in Halls 1 and 2 along with outdoor exhibition areas.

The fair remains open daily from 10:00am to 7:00pm for visitors.

Officials said the exhibition is expected to help expand the EV market in Bangladesh and attract fresh investment in the sector.

Bangladesh Auto Industries Ltd said it plans to produce a range of electric vehicles, including two-wheelers, cars, SUVs, microbuses and mini trucks. The company claims its EVs could be priced nearly 50 per cent lower than imported used vehicles.

It also projected that EV adoption could reduce fuel costs by around 90 per cent while significantly lowering maintenance expenses. The vehicles are expected to produce zero carbon emissions, contributing to environmental sustainability.

The company has established a production facility at the National Special Economic Zone in Mirsarai of Chattogram, with plans to launch its first phase of EVs in the market by the end of 2026.

Industry stakeholders say the initiative could mark a significant step forward in developing Bangladesh’s automotive and electric mobility ecosystem.
