2 dengue deaths, 565 hospitalisations in a day
Bangladesh has recorded two more deaths from dengue fever, while 565 new patients have been admitted to hospitals with the disease in the past 24 hours.
The total number of hospitalisations from the Aedes mosquito-borne illness this year has reached 95,577.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin on Tuesday, both the dead resided in the Dhaka North City Corporation area.
The death toll in December has now ticked up to four, while the caseload has increased by 1,176.
The disease has claimed 386 lives so far this year.
November saw 104 deaths, the highest monthly death toll in 2025.
October saw the second-highest monthly death toll, with 80 fatalities. Previously, 76 people died in September.
July logged 10,684 hospitalisations and 41 deaths, followed by August with 10,496 cases and 39 deaths.
No dengue deaths were reported in March. In contrast, 10 people died in January, three in February, seven in April, three in May, and 19 in June.
Monthly figures this year also include 1,161 admissions in January, 374 in February, 336 in March, 701 in April, 1,773 in May, and 5,951 in June, 15,866 in September, 22,520 in October and 24,530 in November.
