2 female students arrested in Parvez murder case

Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) has arrested two female students of Scholars University in connection with the murder of Prime Asia University student Zahidul Islam Parvez.

They were arrested from Jurain in the capital on Thursday (April 24).

The arrested students are Fatema Tahsin Oishee and Fariha Haque Tina. A total of seven people have been arrested in this murder case.

The DB said that Fatima Tahsin Oishee and Fariha Haque Tina, students of Scholars University were held in Parvez murder case, were in hiding. Later this afternoon, based on secret information, the DB raided a rented house next to Jurain Ashraf Master Adarsh ​​High School and arrested them.

On the afternoon of April 19, three students of Scholars University had an argument with Zahidul Islam Parvez over the accusation of harassing these two female students. At one stage, the university authorities sat down with the two parties to resolve the matter.

However, after leaving the campus, Parvez was stabbed by a group of youths. Later, he was taken to Kurmitola General Hospital in a seriously injured condition, where the doctors declared him dead.

The next day, Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib claimed at a press conference that Parvez was killed by two leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.

Six people, including the main accused Mehraj and Hridoy Miyaji, joint member secretary of the Banani Police Station of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, have been arrested in this incident.

One of them, Mahathir Hasan, has given a confessional statement in court. The rest are on remand.
