Following the gruesome daylight murder of scrap trader Lalchand, also known as Sohag (39), in front of the main gate of Sir Salimullah Medical College (Mitford Hospital) in Dhaka, the Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal has expelled two of its leaders for life. Those expelled are Razzab Ali Pintu and Sabah Karim Laki. The organization has also urged authorities to take strict legal action against them.

This decision was announced in a statement issued on Friday (July 11), signed by Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna and General Secretary Nurul Islam Noyon.

The statement said that on July 9, Sohag was brutally hacked and beaten to death in public view. Following a murder case filed by the victim’s family, the accused—former Assistant Secretary for Climate Affairs of the Jubo Dal central executive committee Razzab Ali Pintu and Joint Convener of Dhaka South Jubo Dal Sabah Karim Laki—have been expelled permanently from all party positions, including their primary membership.

The Jubo Dal leadership emphasized that the organization will not bear responsibility for any criminal acts committed by the expelled individuals. All Jubo Dal members at every level have been instructed to sever all organizational ties with them.

Additionally, the party has called upon law enforcement agencies to take immediate and firm legal action, without showing any leniency in this matter.
