Two leaders of the Rangpur district Jubodal have been accused of entering the house of the manager of a Jubo League leader who is in prison in Rangpur and threatening to shoot his wife and children. The two leaders have been expelled from the party in this incident.

Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Jubodal expelled them from all positions, including primary membership on Sunday (March 1) night. A press release signed by the joint secretary of the central executive committee, Minhajul Islam Bhuiyan, said that this action has been taken due to violation of party discipline and activities contrary to party principles and norms. The release also stated that the party will not take responsibility for any misdeeds of the expelled leaders. In addition, leaders and activists at all levels of the Jubodal have been instructed not to have organizational relations with them.

The expelled are District Jubodal Joint General Secretary Akibul Rahman Monu and Assistant General Secretary Tamjidur Rashid Galib.

It is learnt that a woman named Sanjida Islam held a press conference on Saturday (February 28) alleging that local Jubodal leaders were trying to forcibly take control of her husband's dish line and internet business. She claimed that Akhlaqur Rahman Khan used to buy dish lines from Cable One Network to Shahipara, Kamal Kachna and Dakhiganj crematorium in the city and run a poppy business. Later, when Akhlaqur Rahman sold it, her husband Nizam Uddin Suman and brother-in-law Harun or Rashid Harun bought it through a contract in 2015 and have been running the business since then.

Sanjida further alleged that after the formation of the BNP government, some Jubodal leaders including Galib and Monu suddenly wanted to forcibly take away their business and threatened to beat and kill them.

A video of the threat quickly went viral when it was shared on social media. In the video, Manu Maya threatens Cyber World GM Kafi, saying, 'If you don't resolve the matter by this afternoon, I will shoot you, your wife and children in the bedroom.'

Regarding these allegations, Jubodal leader Tamjidur Rashid Ghalib said, 'I was sent to jail in 2015 and my business was seized.' When asked if there are any business documents, he said, 'There are no documents for this business. I am claiming my rights.'

Rangpur Metropolitan Police's Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Shahjahan Ali said that no written complaint has been received yet. If a complaint is received, action will be taken as per the law.
