2 killed, 10 injured as three buses collide head-on in Sylhet
At least two people were killed and 10 others injured in a head-on collision between three buses in Osmaninagar of Sylhet.
The accident took place around 7:00am on the Dhaka–Sylhet highway on Saturday morning (January 17).
According to police, a Dhaka-bound Ena Paribahan and Unique Paribahan bus collided head-on with a Shyamoli Paribahan bus travelling from Gaibandha to Sylhet. Two people died on the spot, while at least 10 others sustained injuries.
Fire Service personnel and local residents rushed to the scene and rescued the injured, who were taken to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
The identities of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately.
Md Monayem Mia, officer-in-charge (OC) of Osmaninagar Police Station, said, "Traffic on the Dhaka–Sylhet highway is currently moving normally."
