2 killed, 4 injured in Gazipur road accident

A road accident involving a bus and a CNG-run autorickshaw left two people dead, including a five-year-old child, and four others seriously injured in Gazipur.

The accident took place around 10:00am on Monday (March 31) at the Shibbari intersection on the Dhaka-Mymensingh road.

According to locals, the autorickshaw was heading towards Gazipur city from Chandana intersection when a bus, coming from the opposite direction on the elevated road, crashed into it. The impact killed child Tabassum, 5, and her aunt instantly.

Following the accident, an enraged mob seized the bus and set it on fire. Fire service personnel arrived at the scene to douse the flames.

The bodies of the deceased have been sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital for autopsy, while the injured are undergoing treatment at the same hospital.
