The accident took place in front of the Meri Gopinathpur police outpost in Gopalganj Sadar Upazila on the Dhaka-Khulna highway around 3:30am on Sunday (June 15).

After the incident, traffic on the highway was blocked at that location for about two hours.

The helper of the Arman Paribahan bus was killed on the spot in the incident."

While Bhatiapara Highway Police were conducting rescue operations at the crash site, a New Baleshwar Paribahan bus enroute from Chattogram to Khulna struck the two buses and a truck, causing a four-vehicle collision. Three policemen, including ATSI Rafiqul Islam, were seriously injured. Rafiqul Islam died en route to Dhaka, while the other injured were rescued and admitted to Gopalganj General Hospital.

Traffic resumed around 5:30am after the accident-damaged buses and trucks were cleared from the road.
