2 killed in truck-microbus collision in Sirajganj
Two people were killed in a collision between a truck and a microbus in Ullapara, Sirajganj.
The incident took place near the Ullapara railway station on the Dhaka-Pabna highway early morning on Friday (April 18).
The deceased have been identified as Mansurul Alam, 43, the microbus driver and son of Matiur Rahman of Harinathpur village in Pabna, and Manik Chandra Shil, 42, son of Jibon Chandra Shil of the same village. Additionally, a person named Sumon Kumar Das, 42, was admitted to the Ullapara Upazila Health Complex after being injured in the accident.
Abdur Rouf, officer-in-charge (OC) Hatikumrul Highway Police Station, comfirmed this.
He said, "A cement-laden truck heading towards Bogura from Baghabari collided with a microbus traveling from Dhaka to Pabna in the Ullapara railway station area, resulting in two deaths at the spot."
"The truck has been seized, but the truck driver and helper managed to escape from the scene," he added.
