Two madrasa students were killed after being hit by a microbus in Jhenaigati upazila of Sherpur. Another student was injured in the same incident.

The tragic accident occurred around 6:00 PM on Sunday (July 13) at Rangtia Mor on the Rangtia-Madhutila road in the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Sakibul Hasan (10), son of Golap Hossain, and Zakaria (12), son of Zahurul Islam—both from Rangtia village in Jhenaigati upazila.

The injured student, Faizul Alim (11), was initially treated at Sherpur Sadar Hospital and later referred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for advanced care.

Dr. Anika Afrin Proma, Medical Officer at the Emergency Department of Sherpur Sadar Hospital, confirmed the deaths.

According to eyewitnesses, the three madrasa students were standing by the roadside and talking when a speeding microbus struck them from behind. All three sustained severe injuries.

Locals rushed them to the Jhenaigati Upazila Health Complex. As their conditions worsened, they were transferred to Sherpur District Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared two of them dead.
